Types of Membership
Active Membership
Open to neurosurgeons in Virginia, West Virginia, and any contiguous region around these states. An Active Member must be a board eligible or board certified physician whose primary focus is neurosurgery and pay annual dues ($100). Benefits of active membership include:
- Participate and vote in the annual business meeting
- Join committees to further our common goals
- Receive communication regarding regional health care policies and advocacy events
Senior Membership
Open to neurosurgeons who previously met criteria for Active Membership but no longer work in the field of neurosurgery. Senior Members are exempt from annual dues and receive a discount to attend the annual meeting.
Associate Membership
Open to any health care provider not otherwise eligible to be a member of the Society, but who has professional interests aligned with neurological surgery in Virginia, West Virginia, or the contiguous regions around these states. Associate Members pay annual dues ($50 for physicians and $25 for non-physicians) and receive a discount to attend the annual meeting. Associate members are non-voting members of the Society.
Resident/Fellow Membership (free)
Open to any Intern, resident, or fellow currently in training for neurosurgery at an accredited program in Virginia, West Virginia, or the contiguous regions around these states. Resident Members are exempt from annual dues and meeting registration fees and are non-voting members of the Society.
